Who are we?

Mendenhall Contracting, LLC provides landscaping, excavation, snow removal, and material hauling services to Juneau, Alaska, and is run by Chris Lujan and his wife, Catie.

Our Story

When Chris Lujan came home from college for summer break in 2020, he had to find a new job. He’d spent the previous summer working on a charter fishing boat, but the tourism industry was on pause due to Covid-19. Born and raised in Juneau with a reputation of being handy, the word got out quickly that Chris had some free time. He soon had a long to-do list from community members who needed help with various projects, so he started a business called AK Get It Done Guy. In the summer, AK Get It Done Guy provided landscaping services to Juneau. During the school year while Chris attended UAF, AK Get It Done Guy provided snow removal services to Fairbanks. 

Through running his business, Chris realized his passion for helping people and working with his hands. After two years of engineering classes, he switched his major and graduated in 2022 with a Business degree. He moved back to Juneau the following year so his business could serve his hometown full time. 

Thanks to community support, AK Get It Done guy has expanded services since its start in 2020. To better accommodate this growth, Chris restructured and rebranded the business in 2024, and AK Get It Done Guy became Mendenhall Contracting, LLC. Chris runs Mendenhall Contracting, LLC, with his wife Catie, and together they work to provide Juneau with quality landscaping, excavation, snow removal, and material hauling services. Both Chris and Catie strongly value excellence, attention to detail, and lasting client relationships. Whether through yard installations, drainage solutions, parking pads, or stress-free snow removal, they are passionate about making houses feel more like homes.

Last year’s flood picked up this client’s shed, rotated it, and locked the door up against the neighbor’s fence. We moved the shed, installed a D1 pad, and put the shed back where it was supposed to be, leveling the yard and install
